It was reranked as Polymesoda (Geloina) by Oostingh (1935) and Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).

It was assigned to Corbiculidae by Kanno (1978) and Vokes (1980); to Polymesoda by Oostingh (1935) and Le Renard and Pacaud (1995); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Geloinidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
