Taxonomy
Blattula similis was named by Vishnyakova (1982). Its type specimen is PIN 1874/19, an elytra (Right elytrum without basal part of costal area, anal region or tip), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Iya Locality (PIN collection 1874), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small horizon in the Cheremkhovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
