Taxonomy
Palaeobrachyceron steyskali was named by Kovalev (1981). Its type specimen is PIN 3000/1371, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Novospasskoye village (PIN collection 3000), which is in an Oxfordian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Ichetuy Formation of the Russian Federation.
