Taxonomy
Permotupus minor was named by Nel et al. (2009). Its type specimen is LdLAP 445, a hindwing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is F44, le Planas, Lodève Basin, which is in a Kungurian fluvial-deltaic claystone/siltstone in the Salagou Formation of France.
