Taxonomy
Etheripecten plicatus was named by Waterhouse (1983). Its type specimen is UQ F63240 and is a mold. Its type locality is UQ L4640, Bowen River, Exmoor Homestead, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian marine sandstone in the Blenheim Formation of Australia.
