Taxonomy

Dermapteridae was named by Vishnyakova (1980). Its type is Dermapteron.

It was assigned to Archidermaptera by Engel (2003) and Zhao et al. (2011); and to Protodiplatyoidea by Engel and Haas (2007), Deem (2012), Kelly et al. (2018) and Tihelka (2019).

Synonyms

Dermapterinae was named by Vishnyakova (1980). Its type is Dermapteron.

It was considered an invalid subgroup of Dermapteridae by Xing et al. (2016).

It was assigned to Protodiplatidae by Vishnyakova (1980); and to Dermapteridae by Engel and Haas (2007), Zhao et al. (2011) and Deem (2012).
Sinopalaeodermatidae was named by Zhang (2002).

It was synonymized subjectively with Dermapterinae by Engel and Haas (2007), Zhao et al. (2011) and Deem (2012); it was synonymized subjectively with Dermapteridae by Xing et al. (2016).
