Taxonomy
Paraspiriferina transversa was named by Chen (2004). Its type specimen is IGPS109169, a shell (Conjoined shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Uzunbulak Section, Bed 11, Piqiang, Artux City, which is in an Asselian perireef or subreef grainstone in the Piqiang Formation of China.
