Zapatadon
Taxonomy
Zapatadon was named by Reynoso and Clark (1998). Its type is Zapatadon ejidoensis. It was considered monophyletic by Reynoso and Clark (1998).
It was assigned to Sphenodontinae by Apesteguía and Novas (2003), Rauhut et al. (2012) and Cau et al. (2014); and to Sphenodontidae by Reynoso and Clark (1998), Apesteguia et al. (2012), Reynoso and Cruz (2014) and Herrera-Flores et al. (2018).
It was assigned to Sphenodontinae by Apesteguía and Novas (2003), Rauhut et al. (2012) and Cau et al. (2014); and to Sphenodontidae by Reynoso and Clark (1998), Apesteguia et al. (2012), Reynoso and Cruz (2014) and Herrera-Flores et al. (2018).
