Cromptodon mamiferoides
Taxonomy
Cromptodon mamiferoides was named by Bonaparte (1972). Its type specimen is PVL 3858, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is north slope of Cerro Bayo de Portrerillos, which is in an Anisian terrestrial siltstone in the Cerro de Las Cabras Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Cromptodon.
