Diacanthaspis lepidus

Taxonomy
Diacanthaspis lepidus was named by Whittington (1956) [Paratypes: USNM 116518a-c]. Its type specimen is USNM 116517, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 2. edge of quarry, just north of RR tracks ΒΌ mile west of Strasburg Junction, which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.
