Apianurus barbatus

Taxonomy
Apianurus barbatus was named by Whittington (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 124701, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 2. edge of quarry, just north of RR tracks ΒΌ mile west of Strasburg Junction, which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Apianurus.
