Calipernurus insolitus

Taxonomy
Calipernurus insolitus was named by Whittington (1956) [Paratypes: USNM 124712a-d]. Its type specimen is USNM 124711, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 3. south side of road, 0.2 mile east of Strasburg Junction, which is in a Turinian carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Calipernurus.
