Heteropecten gryphus

Taxonomy
Aviculopecten gryphus was named by Newell (1938). Its type specimen is Texas Univ 12311 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hess Ranch (1.5 miles N55W), which is in a Roadian marine limestone/sandstone in the Word Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Heteropecten gryphus by Biakov (2023).
