Taxonomy
Lopha simplexa was named by Zhang (1977). Its type specimen is IV55253, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Meitanba, Longtan Fm, Ningxiang County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Longtan Formation of China.
