Pyramus laevis

Bivalvia - Pholadomyida - Megadesmidae

Taxonomy
Megadesmus laevis was named by Sowerby (1838). Its type specimen is BMNH L61050 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harper's Hill, Hunter Valley (Mitchell coll), which is in a Sakmarian coastal sandstone in the Allandale Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Pachydomus laevis by Morris (1845); it was recombined as Pachydomus levis by Dana (1849); it was recombined as Pyramus laevis by Runnegar (1967), Waterhouse (1988) and Clarke (1992).
