Taxonomy
Lucinisca was named by Dall (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani R Sepkoski's reference number: 700]. It is extant. Its type is Lucina nassula.

It was reranked as Phacoides (Lucinisca) by Glenn (1904) and Gardner (1943); it was reranked as Lucina (Lucinisca) by Chavan (1937), Pilsbry and Olsson (1941), Cox et al. (1969) and Dockery (1982).

It was assigned to Phacoides by Glenn (1904) and Gardner (1943); to Lucininae by Woodring (1982); to Lucina by Chavan (1937), Pilsbry and Olsson (1941), Cox et al. (1969) and Dockery (1982); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
