Agniesella was named by Cossmann (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 362,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Pleuroderma aratula.

It was assigned to Portlockiellidae by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
