Taxonomy
Eoplectreurys gertschi was named by Selden and Huang (2010). Its type specimen is NIGP151720a,b, an exoskeleton (adult male), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (NIGP collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China. It is the type species of Eoplectreurys.
