Taxonomy
Hintzespongia bilamina was named by Rigby and Gutschick (1976). It is not extant. Its type locality is Marjum Formation, House Range, Millard County, Utah - Rigby and Gutschick 1976, which is in the Solvan/Menevian of shale/limestone the Marjum Limestone Formation Utah. It is the type species of Hintzespongia.
