Taxonomy
Mesolinga was named by Chavan (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 159,914]. Its type is Lucina plebeia.

It was assigned to Lucininae by Cox et al. (1969); to Lucinidae by Hayami (1975); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
