Taxonomy
Ischyrotoma parallela was named by Boyce (1989) [Paratype: NFM F-86, F-112.]. Its type specimen is NFM F-178, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BH-95A-114, which is in a Cassinian peritidal lime mudstone/wackestone in the Catoche Formation of Canada.
