Palaeophis vastaniensis

Taxonomy
Palaeophis vastaniensis was named by Bajpai and Head (2008). Its type specimen is 11TR/SB/VLM 914, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vastan Lignite Mine, which is in a Ypresian lagoonal siltstone/claystone in the Cambay Shale Formation of India.
