Hermatoblattina was named by Scudder (1879). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Phyloblatta by Handlirsch (1920).

It was assigned to Blattinariae by Scudder (1879), Scudder (1886) and Scudder (1895); and to Archimylacridae by Handlirsch (1906) and Guthörl (1936).
