Taxonomy
Ilerdocossus ningchengensis was named by Wang and Zhang (2008). Its type specimen is NIGP148391, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Xisanjia, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - small siltstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
