Myllita was named by d'Orbigny (1850) [Sepkoski's age data: T Plio R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Erycinidae by Vokes (1980) and Beu et al. (1990); to Galeommatidae by Lamprell and Healy (1998); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
