Taxonomy
Benthamaspis canadensis was named by Dean (1989) [Paratypes: GSC 62265, 62268, 62270]. Its type specimen is GSC 62269, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC locality 92290, Outram Fm., Biozone J, Alberta, Canada - Dean 1989, which is in a Tremadoc transition zone/lower shoreface shale in the Outram Formation of Canada.
