Taxonomy
Goniotelus wahwahensis was named by Hintze (1953) [Paratypes: 26484, 26486 (AMNH).]. Its type specimen is 26485 (AMNH), a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Goniotelina wahwahensis by Whittington (1953); it was recombined as Acidiphorus wahwahensis by Brett and Westrop (1996).
