Bathyurus gibberulus

Taxonomy
Bathyurus gibberulus was named by Billings (1865). Its type specimen is GSC 660, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Dolichometopus gibberulus by Billings (1865); it was recombined as Benthamaspis gibberula by Fortey (1979) and Fortey and Bruton (2013).

Synonyms
  • Benthamaspis distinctus was named by Young (1973) [Paratypes: BYU 2179-82.]. Its type specimen is BYU 2178, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is H-20, which is in a Blackhillsian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Fillmore Formation of Utah.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Benthamaspis gibberula by Fortey (1979).
