Taxonomy

Aculeati was named by Latreille (1802). It is extant.

It was corrected as Aculeata by Brothers (1999), Heraty et al. (2011), Sharkey et al. (2012).

It was assigned to Hymenoptera by Latreille (1802); to Vespoides by Heraty et al. (2011); and to Apocrita by Brothers (1999), Sharkey et al. (2012).

Synonyms

Bocchus cenomanianus was named by Olmi et al. (2010). Its type specimen is PIN 3901/133, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Martins and Melo (2019).
Bombus pusillus was named by Menge (1856). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Danziger Naturkundemuseum Menge collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Zeuner and Manning (1976); it was considered a nomen dubium by Engel (2001).
