Taxonomy
Droltus sanignacioensis was named by Whalen and Carter (2002). Its type specimen is USNM 401910 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BPW80-30, San Hipolito Fm, Vizcaino Peninsula, Baja California Sur, which is in a Pliensbachian slope sandstone/lime mudstone in the San Hipolito Formation of Mexico.
