Taxonomy
Triarthrus fischeri was named by Billings (1865) [Lectotype selected by Whittington 1965. Paralectotypes: GSC 678a, b, c-i]. Its type specimen is GSC 678c (lectotype), a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Porterfieldia fisheri by Ludvigsen and Tuffnell (1983).
