Taxonomy
Plagiophlebia praecostarea was named by Bode (1953). It is an impression. Its type locality is Hattorf, Fallersleben (Elegans), which is in a Toarcian offshore mudstone in the Posidonia Shale Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Plagiophlebia.
