Taxonomy
Mesacridites elongata was named by Riek (1954). Its type specimen is Australian Museum F.30970, a forewing (partial forewing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Beacon Hill (AM collection), which is in an Anisian lacustrine - small shale in the Hawkesbury Sandstone Formation of Australia.
