Rage et al. 2008Differs from all other snakes, except Nigerophis, in having prezygapophyseal buttresses compressed, forming a vertical ridge, prolonged by anteriorly oriented prezygapo− physeal processes. Differs from Nigerophis in having very lightly built vertebrae, a wide and thin zygosphene, a blade− like and long neural spine, well−marked subcentral ridges, and paracotylar foramina (irregularly occurring).
