Perrierina was named by Bernard (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: T Plio-l R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Cyamiidae by Gazdzicki and Pugaczewska (1984) and Beu et al. (1990); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Perrierinidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
