Promyalina kobjumensis was named by Truschelev (1996). Its type specimen is 955/2, a valve (Left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Fazan creek, Kobyume river, Indigirka Basin, which is in a Smithian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
