Pseudomyoconcha was named by Rossi et al. (1966) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr m Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 94]. Its type is Pseudomyoconcha lombardica.

It was assigned to Myoconchinae by Vokes (1980); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); to Myoconchidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014); and to Kalenteridae by Kiel (2018).
