Ceratites euomphalus was named by Keyserling (1845).
It was recombined as Meekoceras euomphalum by Mojsisovics (1882); it was recombined as Xenodiscus euomphalus by Mojsisovics (1886); it was recombined as Nordophiceras euomphalus by Kummel (1969) and Zakharov (1978); it was recombined as Bajarunia euomphala by Dagis and Ermakova (1988) and Dagis et al. (1996).
