Taxonomy
Sciophila takoyensis was named by Blagoderov (2007). Its type specimen is PIN 3387/93, an exoskeleton (Missing head), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Sakhalin Amber (PIN collection 3387), which is in a Lutetian terrestrial amber/coal in the Naibuchi Formation of the Russian Federation.
