Vescotoceras japonicum

Taxonomy
Prototoceras japonicum was named by Bando and Ehiro (1985). Its type specimen is GLKU-TY-8201 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ishihama coast, locality 3, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Wuchiapingian offshore shale in the Suenosaki Formation of Japan.

It was recombined as Vescotoceras japonicum by Ehiro (2019).
