Dyscritella vulgata was named by Gorjunova (1971). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kurteke 1, Bazardarin Fm, Limestone, which is in a Sakmarian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bazardarin Formation of Tajikistan.
