Taxonomy
Pseudopalaeoaplysina major was named by Fan et al. (1991). Its type specimen is IG 0187 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huangnitang Reef, Lichuan, which is in a Changhsingian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Changxing Formation of China.
