Taxonomy

Protowentzelella variabilis was named by Fedorowski (1965).

Synonyms

Stylastraea tenuiseptata was named by Fedorowski (1965).

It was synonymized subjectively with Protowentzelella variabilis by Fedorowski et al. (2007).
Dillerium potterensis was named by Wilson (1982). Its type specimen is UCMP 37220 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP D-843, Potter Ridge, which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone/limestone in the McCloud Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Protowentzelella variabilis by Fedorowski et al. (2007).
Kleopatrina (Porfirievella) vesiculosa was named by Fedorowski (1967).

It was synonymized subjectively with Protowentzelella variabilis by Fedorowski et al. (2007).
Stylastraea rowetti was named by Wilson and Langenheim (1993). Its type specimen is LACMIP 11436 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP 2548, Arrow Canyon, Bed 237, which is in an Artinskian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bird Spring Formation of Nevada.

It was synonymized subjectively with Protowentzelella variabilis by Fedorowski et al. (2007).
