Taxonomy
Petalaxis allisonae was named by Wilson (1982). Its type specimen is UCMP 37233 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP D-803, McCloud Bridge East, which is in an Asselian marine limestone in the McCloud Formation of California.
