Taxonomy
Mondegodon eutrigonus was named by Tabuce et al. (2011). Its type specimen is UNLSNC-19, a tooth (right [upper] M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Silveirinha clay pit, which is in an Eocene crevasse splay conglomerate/siliciclastic in the Silveirinha Formation of Portugal. It is the type species of Mondegodon.
