Taxonomy
Tetraspidoceras loczyi was named by Géczy (1998). Its type specimen is Pl. 5, fig. 3; Pl. 6 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Somssich-hegy, Villány, Pliensbachian faunal horizon, which is in a Jamesoni carbonate limestone in the Somssichhegy Formation of Hungary.
