Taxonomy

Permopsocidae was named by Tillyard (1926). Its type is Permopsocus.

It was assigned to Copeognatha by Tillyard (1935); to Psocoptera by Carpenter (1933) and Carpenter (1992); to Paraneoptera by Mockford et al. (2013); and to Permopsocida by Huang et al. (2016).
