Taxonomy
Mariceras gracile was named by Flower (1963). Its type specimen is New Mexico Bureau of Mines 891 and is a cast. Its type locality is Rhodes Canyon, San Andres Mountains, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the San Andres Formation of New Mexico.
