Taxonomy
Comoseris sangkoelirangensis was named by Gerth (1923). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is River Gelingseh, Borneo, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Gelingseh Formation of Indonesia.

It was recombined as Pironastrea sangkoelirangensis by Gerth (1925).
