Rostranteris mediterraneum
Taxonomy
Rostranteris mediterraneum was named by Gemmellaro (1899). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pietra di Salomone, calcare grossolano, Sosio, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in Italy.
It was recombined as Notothyris mediterranea by Diener (1903), Sremac (1986), Liang (1990), Zeng et al. (1995) and Shen et al. (2003); it was recombined as Notothyris (Rostranteris) mediterranea by Mansuy (1913).
